Alexis Mixter

Alexis is a visual artist living in Oregon. Originally from New England, she made her way here via New York City and Southern California. Her primary medium is woodburning and her studio smells like heaven. She was born in 1978, which is important because she was heavily influenced by the movies, music, and TV in the 80s and 90s. When Alexis was young she would stay up all night watching things that she most definitely was not supposed to be watching (remember Up All Night on USA?!). Working at Blockbuster Video in her teens (be kind, please rewind) also had a huge impact on her.

Alexis started this podcast to unpack all the weird and damaging ideas these movies and shows put into her head.

AJ D’Agostino

AJ is a writer and docuseries producer who recently swapped the endless sunshine and frequent Angelyne sightings of LA for the rugged mysticality of the Pacific Northwest. So far, she's adjusting well to the abundance of rain, aminita mushrooms, incredible food and all that gobsmacking nature. A lover of stories, AJ has produced TV across the spectrum, from Discovery Channel's Naked and Afraid- with the copious nudity that prepared her for this particular podcast- to History Channel's Curse of Oak Island, HBO's Wahl Street, NatGeo's Restaurant at the End of the World and a whole lot in between. Right now, she's probably either asking someone to pet their dog or watching something saucy on Showtime After Hours. (That's still a thing, right?)
